In Valby, the construction company Nordstern is in the process of completely renovating seven apartment blocks.  <\/h2>\n

To help streamline the many processes involved in the renovation project, Nordstern has chosen to use Platform.as\u2019 innovative total covering solution. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The custom solution in Valby is currently installed on one of the apartment blocks, and the plan is to move the total covering<\/a> from building to building as the renovation project progresses. Specifically, the solution consists of 20 work platforms<\/a>, which are set up along the two long sides of the apartment block. Between the two rows of platforms, over the building, cassettes are installed on which the covering tarp is secured. And a work platform supports the complete solution at each gable end. <\/p>\n

Currently, the work platforms<\/a> are primarily used for bricklaying and handling large glass sections, but when the facade work is complete and the roof work really gets underway, the platforms will be locked under the eaves, so they cannot be lowered. This means that the craftsmen working on the roof will have a much larger working area around the roof than if traditional scaffolding were used, as the platform decks are larger than scaffolding decks.<\/p>\n

There will therefore be more space for storing materials, and for each craftsman to perform their work. In addition to the increased workspace, movement around the eaves will be more unrestricted, as there are no vertical scaffolding columns around the work deck.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Custom solutions with huge potential<\/strong><\/p>\n

The future potential for total coverings<\/a> is enormous. “In addition to the many renovation tasks that can be performed using Platform.as\u2019 work platforms, there is also huge development potential in the product itself, making it even more attractive compared to a traditional scaffolding solution. For example, we can mount two platforms on a single mast, where the upper one is locked at the eaves while the other can move up and down and be used for the facade work. With this solution, it\u2019s possible, for instance, to change the roof and windows under the same covering,” says CEO, Casper Gorm Knudsen, adding: <\/p>\n

“In Valby, the solution includes, in addition to work platforms and coverings, also four stair towers and four of Platform.as’ material hoists<\/a> to support the roof work. If the building had been higher than the current four stories, it would have made a lot of sense to replace the material hoists with our reliable personnel and material hoists<\/a>, which have a lifting capacity of up to 3,200 kg.”<\/p>\n

The flexible solution can be constructed in many different ways. For example, it is possible to build a total covering with a specially designed system so that the covering itself can roll on “trolleys”. This solution is well-suited when the contractor works in phases on one or more buildings. <\/p>\n
