The Bricklaying robot has not been developed to replace the mason, on the contrary. It has been developed to support the mason's work and give the working environment a serious boost.

AGILE BRICKLAYING ROBOT FOR UNIFORM AND TIRING WORK

The mason is indispensable on a project and he will continue to be so! But we would like to introduce you to the mason’s new best friend; the bricklaying robot.

Masonry can be incredibly monotonous and tiring work, especially on large projects where there is not much variety in the work. As a mason, you are naturally trained to be able to lay as many stones as possible in a short period of time. But you are also trained to do the difficult work and beautiful details. At Platform.as, one of our mantras has always been that you have to work smart. That is why we rent out mast climbing work platforms to make the job easier – but also why we have developed the Bricklaying Robot, in collaboration with Robot At Work.

BRICKLAYING ROBOT

AN IMPROVED TROWEL

Our bricklaying robot has not been developed to replace the mason, on the contrary. The bricklaying robot has been developed to support the mason’s work and it is still dependent on the mason’s skills. Thus, the robot is brilliant when it comes to laying bricks on top of bricks, but the characteristics of the mason are still very much important when it comes to finishing. E.g. joints must be smoothed, just as the bricklaying robot can only brick in a straight line. Corners, arches, edges and cornices thus still require the human sense of detail.

In collaboration with the mason, the bricklaying robot can create the optimal setup in relation of speed, work process and quality. The bricklaying robot lays up to 240 bricks per hour and therefore it must be continuously loaded with both stones and mortar. This can be done by either a mason or a craftsman, and it takes place at an ergonomically correct height.

The mason must continuously scrape off the excess mortar and press the joint, as well as he has to ensure the quality of the robot’s work. The robot takes the extremely tiring and repetitive part out of the mason’s work process and leaves the craftsmanship to the professionals.

Our bricklaying robot is designed in such a way that it is completely safe to work with. The robot’s work processes are carefully planned, so that it is a natural part of the mason’s procedure of measuring and planning joints, placement of windows and any unevenness that must be corrected when the bricks are laid.

The movements of the bricklaying robot are continuously corrected using laser control, thus ensuring that the bricks are always positioned correctly, even if there are external movements or misalignments.

SETUP

The bricklaying robot arrives at the construction site together with a mast climbing work platform from Platform.as. There has been a wall of 130-140 cm set for the bricklaying robot and it will be able to brick the remaining part of the wall afterwards.

TECHNICAL COMMISSIONING

DATA

*The bricklaying robot is designed to run with several types of mortar, however, the instructions for the consistency must be observed to ensure that the mortar does not pack the feed.
**The speed depends on the local circumstances, but compared to a mason and a craftsman without a bricklaying robot, it is approximately twice as many stones in a working day – this is of course with some precautions, as we have yet to make a specific test.

TELESCOPIC HANDLER FOR RENT

At Platform.as you can rent a telescopic handler to use in collaboration with your mast climber. The telescopic handlers are for rent, so that you only have to rent one for the time needed. We deliver to the whole country, so that it is always possible to get a telescopic handler wherever your construction site is located.
